New Silver Thread Winegarden opens this February

After 30 years at it’s off-the-beaten-path location on Caywood Rd. in Lodi, the reputable Silver Thread tasting room has moved to 9564 Rt-414. Silver Thread’s new location – the Silver Thread Winegarden – offers wine tastings, retail sales, and a limited food menu inspired by the previous, long-time tenant: Dano’s Heuriger Restaurant. Silver Thread’s A-frame winery building at 1401 Caywood Rd. will continue to offer private wine tastings and vineyard tours by appointment.

“We’re excited to welcome long-time Silver Thread fans and newcomers to the beautiful space,” said Shannon Brock, Silver Thread co-owner and estate manager.  “Wine and food were meant to be enjoyed together, and we look forward to offering a delicious locally-sourced menu of small plates to pair with our wines.”

Silver Thread’s tasting room has long been praised for its high-quality wines and knowledgeable staff. The winery will continue its emphasis on wine education in the Winegarden. In addition to guided tastings offered at two rustic tasting bars, guests may order wine by-the-glass or flights and light fare for a casual, seated experience. Favorites from Dano’s menu that will be available include Austrian spreads, seasonal salads, and sausages. The large restaurant space will also be used for wine classes and private event rental.

The Silver Thread Winegarden opened at its new location on Rt-414 on Friday, February 7, 2025. Opening hours for February, March and April are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12-5pm. May through October, the Winegarden will be open Thursday through Monday from 12-6pm.
