Press Release

New Winemaking Team at Heron Hill

HAMMONDSPORT, NY August 19th, 2025

Heron Hill Winery is thrilled to announce several exciting developments within its winemaking team as preparations begin for the 2025 harvest. We are honored to begin working with acclaimed winemaking consultant Nova Cadamatre, Master of Wine. As one of the most respected and innovative voices in American wine, Nova brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to Heron Hill’s winemaking program. Her guidance will help shape the next chapter of our wines while furthering our commitment to quality, sustainability, and regional expression.

We are also proud to share that Rick Porter has been promoted to Associate Winemaker. Over the past year, Rick has played an integral role in the cellar, and this promotion reflects his leadership, talent, and deep dedication to Heron Hill’s vision.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Nova Cadamatre as our Winemaking Consultant,” said John and Josephine Ingle, owners of Heron Hill Winery for the past 48 years. “Her expertise will be an incredible asset as we continue to craft wines that reflect the best of the Finger Lakes. We also couldn’t be more proud to see Rick Porter promoted to Associate Winemaker. His commitment and skill have been invaluable to our team. Together, these two will help ensure
Heron Hill continues to play a leading role in the Finger Lakes’ growing reputation for producing world-class wines.”

In addition, we are delighted to welcome back Assistant Winemaker Jared Grace from his paternity leave, having recently celebrated the arrival of his son. Jared’s return brings renewed energy and creativity to our winemaking team. With this dynamic group in place and harvest on the horizon, Heron Hill is more excited than ever for the 2025 vintage and the future of its wines.
